Technical Customer Engineer

Salary : R 156k to R216k p/a

Start Date : Immediately

Northern Suburbs, Cape Town

We are searching for an innovative, deadline-driven technical engineer to join our company. The technical engineer's responsibilities includes, but not limited to, assisting engineers with various tasks like design, construction, equipment installation, system configuration , maintenance, developing preventative maintenance plans and providing customer support. You should also be able to troubleshoot systems, identify problems and write up reports.

To be a successful as a technical engineer, you should be meticulous, efficient and have sound knowledge of the relevant engineering discipline. Outstanding candidates are team players with exemplary problem-solving abilities.

Language Proficiency: 
  • Afrikaans (Written & Verbal)

  • English (Written & Verbal)


  • Diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues on desktops, laptops, printers, scanners, and other peripherals.

  • Apply basic network principles to troubleshoot connectivity problems.

  • Install, configure, and maintain Windows 10/11 and associated software suites (Office 365, OneDrive, SharePoint, AzureAD).

  • Provide hands-on support for hardware components replacement (CPU, memory, disk, battery, fans, motherboard) in desktops and laptops.

  • Collaborate with other IT professionals to identify and implement solutions for complex technical issues.

  • Maintain accurate documentation of IT inventory, software licenses, and configurations.

  • Ensure compliance with security protocols and company policies.

  • Ability to use Backup Systems

  • Analysing existing systems and operations and developing preventative maintenance strategies

  • Identifing potential problems and notifying the relevant stakeholders in a timely manner.

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role.

  • Proficiency in troubleshooting desktops, laptops, printers, scanners, and related peripherals.

  • Strong understanding of basic network principles.

  • Extensive experience with Windows 10/11 and associated software (Office 365, OneDrive, SharePoint, AzureAD).

  • Ability to identify and replace components in desktops and laptops (CPU, memory, disk, battery, fans, motherboard).

  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Attention to detail and ability to work independently.

  • Ability to work under pressure

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Certifications in relevant technologies (e.g., CompTIA A+, Network+).

  • Grade 12 Certificate

  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Products

  • Basic knowledge of LAN/WAN connectivity

Additional Information:

  • The incumbent will be required to have a valid drivers licenses and own reliable transport

  • This position requires working overtime when required

  • The incumbent is required to be available for standby support when scheduled.
