Fibre Technician / Team Leader​

Region: Port Elizabeth – Newton Park (Must already reside in the area)
Position: Full-time
Salary: R120,000 – R180,000 per year (depending on experience)
Start Date: As soon as possible

Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Fibre Technician / Team Leader with strong technical and civil engineering experience. The role involves fibre installations, splicing, civil works, and team management on residential and commercial projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Installation, splicing, and testing of fibre networks (SDU, MDU, FTTB(S))

• Fault finding, network repairs, and as-built documentation

• Trenching and surface reinstatement (tar, paving, concrete)

• Installation of PVC conduits, manholes, handholes, and ducting

• Management of civil works teams and fibre splicing technicians

• Ensuring compliance with Health & Safety regulations

• Client communication, site updates, and daily reporting

Requirements

• Minimum 3 years’ experience in fibre installation and splicing

• Experience with SDU, MDU, and FTTB(S) projects

• Certified Fibre Optic Splicer (CFO or equivalent)

• Strong civil restoration/reinstatement experience

• Valid South African driver’s licence and own transport

• No criminal record

• Computer and smartphone literate

• Good communication skills

• Team management experience

• Willingness to work overtime

• Fluent in both Afrikaans and English
